Academics
One continuous path, from preschool to high school
Overview
At Montería School we walk with students through every stage of their schooling, with a coherent and progressive bilingual approach. Each level has its own purpose, but they all share the same hallmark: meaningful learning, English lived day to day and an education grounded in values.

Preschool
Grades: Pre-Nursery, Nursery, Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten and Transition.
Preschool is the foundation of everything. Here play, exploration and affection drive learning. We work on the dimensions specific to the human being and take the first steps in English: intensive English begins in Kindergarten and, from Transition onwards, English is taught as a foreign language, focused on listening and speaking, recognising everyday vocabulary and approaching reading and writing.

Elementary School
Grades: Grades 1 to 5.
In elementary school we consolidate academic foundations and strengthen the bilingual approach in areas such as Science, Social Studies and Math, with project-based learning, while reading, writing and logical thinking grow stronger. It is a stage of curiosity, study habits and teamwork.
Middle School
Grades: Grades 6 to 9.
Middle school goes deeper into each field of knowledge and develops critical thinking. Students strengthen their independence, their research skills and their ability to communicate in two languages, while taking part in projects that connect what they learn with their social and cultural reality.
High School
Grades: Grades 10 and 11.
High school prepares our students to complete their secondary education and move on to university. With close support, we strengthen English as a foreign language, critical thinking and academic skills, alongside the Student Social Service as an experience of responsibility and commitment to the community.
Our bilingual programme
English is not just one more subject: it is a language to learn in and to live in. Our approach is communicative — students use English in real situations, inside and outside the classroom.
•A clear progression: Intensive English from Kindergarten and, from Transition onwards, integrated into other subjects across the curriculum.
•Subjects in English: Science, Social Studies and Math are taught in English through project-based learning.
•An international benchmark: English development is guided by the Common European Framework of Reference, with standardised tests supporting the process.
•Global Up project: Integration of English into everyday life through projects and activities that facilitate the use of English as a foreign language.
