Educational Project

How our students learn and grow

What is our educational project?

The Institutional Educational Project (PEI) is the roadmap behind everything we do at school every day: how we teach, which values we promote and where we want to take each student. At Montería School that project has a clear purpose: to form well-rounded, bilingual people with a sense of responsibility, capable of transforming their surroundings for the better.

Montería School's educational project

Our teaching model

At Montería School we believe people learn best by doing. Our students discover, explore and build their own knowledge from real, meaningful experiences, connecting what they learn with their lives and their surroundings. It is not about passive memorisation, but about understanding, applying and enjoying learning, supported by teachers who spark curiosity and value the unique way each student learns.

The four pillars of education

Following the four pillars of education, at Montería School we want every student to develop:

•Learning to know: Acquiring the tools of understanding.

•Learning to do: Being able to shape their own surroundings for the better.

•Learning to live together: Cooperating and taking part alongside others.

•Learning to be: Growing as a whole person.

What this looks like in the classroom

•Teachers who challenge, guide and accompany, rather than simply deliver content.

•Each student learns at their own pace, from their strengths and gifts.

•Project-based learning.

•Families taking part as an essential piece of the educational process.

Pedagogical grounding: constructivist model and meaningful learning, Reggio Emilia principles, the four pillars of education and a competency-based approach.

Well-rounded education

We educate every dimension of the person: cognitive, communicative, social-emotional, physical, aesthetic, ethical and spiritual. That is why, alongside the academic subjects, science, the arts, sports, technology and cross-curricular projects hold a central place in school life.

Our student profile

Our student profile grows out of our mission and vision: to develop citizens of the world who are bilingual, productive and responsible. We aspire to graduate critical thinkers, effective communicators, and creative and collaborative people, oriented towards excellence and autonomy, who value lifelong learning and connect research with their reality. They are sensitive and supportive of those around them, love and defend life, face challenges and difficulties with maturity, and care for nature as God's creation. They are leaders who live by Christ-centred principles and put their talents and gifts at the service of society.

Our graduate profile

On completing their journey at Montería School, our graduates stand out for their strong academic performance, their healthy relationships and their sense of responsibility. They are bilingual young people, effective communicators, creative and critical thinkers, ready to take on the challenges of higher education and of life with leadership.
